Troubleshooting by symptom
Suno is stochastic—you’re shifting odds, not compiling MIDI. For each symptom: try the fixes in order, then run 2–3 generations with the same prompt before you declare failure.
Song cuts off early
Likely causes
Possible causes: lyrics don’t signal an ending; generation hit length limits; need extend/continue.
What to try
Try: Add [Outro] / [Fade Out] (tags). Shorten busy sections. Use Suno’s extend from the last bar if available.
Vocals don’t match what I wrote
Likely causes
Possible causes: Style and lyrics disagree; vocal words too vague; persona vs prompt mismatch.
What to try
Try: Align story and sound (Lyrics vs Style). Use concrete delivery words (Vocals). Add --no vocals only if you want instrumental (negatives).
Too many instruments / mud
Likely causes
Possible causes: Style lists ten layers; genre implies a full band you didn’t intend.
What to try
Try: Remove instruments one at a time; add one negative; tighten Production (“minimal”, “dry upfront”).
Sudden section change
Likely causes
Possible causes: unclear section tags; conflicting dynamic adjectives.
What to try
Try: Explicit [Verse]/[Chorus] boundaries; smoother mood adjectives in Mood.
Can’t get a quiet ending
What to try
Try: Lyrics: [Fade Out], last lines describing decay; Style: “soft ending”, “strip to voice and piano”, Production constraints.
Unwanted instrument or effect
What to try
Try: Negative prompt for that element; reduce conflicting positive mentions.
Every generation sounds different
What to try
Try: Narrow adjectives (Genre hub); fewer overlapping ideas; accept multi-seed workflow—pick the best take.
