What this tool is for

Compare original and revised song lyrics before you paste them into Suno. Paste text, scan the middle column, and scroll both editors together on long drafts.

What the columns mean

# is the line number. L and R show character counts for that line. Diff compares the two sides: a green check when text matches; 0 when lengths match but wording differs; +N / −N when the right line is longer or shorter.

Sync scroll, guides & Focus

Turn on Sync scroll to keep both panes and the line list aligned. Optional line guides add a 24px rhythm in the text areas. Focus opens a full-screen layout — press Esc to exit.

Run a controlled lyrics revision

A Suno lyrics diff is clearest when both drafts keep the same section order. Paste the current version on the left and the candidate revision on the right. Start with changed lines in the center column, then read the full section aloud. Matching character counts do not mean the rhythm or meaning stayed the same.

  1. Keep tags such as [Verse] and [Chorus] aligned in both drafts.
  2. Change the lines needed for the current goal: clarity, rhyme, point of view or length.
  3. Use the L and R counts to find large length shifts, then read those lines in context.
  4. Save a named copy before making another round of edits.

What the comparison catches

It exposes added, removed and rewritten lines, plus cases where wording changed but the line length did not. Sync scrolling helps keep long verses aligned.

What still needs a human check

The diff cannot judge rhyme, stress, singability, narrative sense or whether a hook earns its repetition. Use the duration estimator for a separate timing check.
