Name the route that failed
When a Suno download is not working, start with the route rather than repeating the same click. An account download from Library, a multi-song ZIP, a public song link, and a browser media tab fail for different reasons. Identify the route, the URL type, the file format, and the exact message before you retry.
Suno's official web instructions use the three-dot menu in Library or Workspace. The official download guide also distinguishes one-song downloads from multi-song ZIP downloads. A public-link tool follows a separate path and cannot see private account controls.
Write down four clues
- Which route failed: Suno menu, batch ZIP, or public link?
- Which device and browser did you use?
- Which format failed: MP3, WAV, MP4, cover, lyrics, or ZIP?
- Did the page show an error, play the file, or stay unchanged?
Do not treat a public page as an account session
A public song URL can play without giving you access to the creator's Library, plan allowance, or official Download menu. If the song belongs to you, sign in to Suno and use the account route first.
Fix problems in the official Suno menu
If the three-dot menu has no Download option, confirm that you opened the right Library or Workspace and that the song finished generating. Refresh the page after the song card settles, then open the menu again. If the menu appears but a format is missing, compare the current account and device with Suno's help guidance.
Check account, plan, and device conditions
Suno documents WAV availability for Pro and Premier subscribers on the web, while mobile downloads can default to MP3. A missing WAV option on a phone is different from a failed MP3 download on desktop. Read Suno's WAV troubleshooting article, then test the same song on the web if the format matters.
Test one song before selecting a batch
Multi-song downloads create a ZIP and add storage, network, and browser work. Download one song first. If it succeeds, select a smaller group, right-click the selection, choose Download All, and keep the browser open until the ZIP appears in the Downloads panel.
Fix a public Suno link that returns no result
The Suno song download tool needs a public song or Hook URL that the fetch service can reach. Paste the full link from the address bar, including the path after the domain. Supported shapes include a public suno.com/song/…, suno.com/s/…, or suno.com/hook/… link.
Remove the most common URL mistakes
- Copy the link again from Suno instead of typing the title or ID.
- Remove surrounding punctuation added by a message or document.
- Use the playlist or profile tool for a playlist or creator URL.
- Open the link in a private browser window to check whether it is public.
Private, unpublished, and deleted songs cannot be fetched
A public-link tool cannot sign in as the owner or bypass a removed page. If the page only works in your logged-in Suno session, use the official Download menu. If the page returns a removal or privacy message, ask the creator for a permitted public link or the file itself.
When the browser plays the file instead of saving it
Browsers often open MP3 or MP4 in a media tab when the server marks the response for inline playback. The file can still be available. Use the download control in the media player, right-click and choose Save As, or use the browser Downloads command. Keep the tab open until the save starts.
Check the browser download state
Open the Downloads panel and look for a paused, blocked, or completed file. Check device storage and the browser's automatic-download permissions. A file that plays but never saves may be blocked by a privacy extension, a managed device policy, or a full disk.
Do not rename a file to repair a failed download
Changing .mp3 to .wav or .mp4 only changes the label. Use the format exposed by the source, then convert it in an audio or video editor if your rights and workflow allow that conversion.
When MP4, lyrics, or cover art is missing
The single-song tool can save MP3, create a 16-bit PCM WAV locally, retain the available original audio, and save an available MP4, JPEG cover art, lyrics as TXT, or a ZIP. Its WAV is converted from the public page's source audio; it is not Suno's official account WAV and cannot restore detail already missing from that source. The tool does not provide stems, MIDI, project files, or a video Suno never published.
Separate source availability from a tool error
If MP3 and cover art work but MP4 is unavailable, the song may have no published video. If lyrics are empty, the public page may not expose the lyric text. Try the official Suno page to confirm what the creator can see before opening a support issue.
Retry after the source page settles
Newly generated songs can take time to expose media and metadata. Wait for the song page to finish loading, copy the link again, and retry once. Repeated retries do not create an asset that the source has not published.
Use this short troubleshooting sequence
- Open the original Suno page and confirm its visibility.
- Use the official Library route for a song you own.
- For a public link, paste the complete URL into the single-song downloader.
- Try one format and one song before a ZIP.
- Check the browser Downloads panel, storage, and permissions.
- Record the exact missing format and source state before escalating.
For the full click path, read How to Download a Suno Song. For a format decision, compare Suno MP3, WAV, and MP4.
Fast diagnosis: a missing menu is an account route issue, a missing public result is a visibility or URL issue, and a playing media tab is usually a browser save action. Keep those cases separate.
